For many people who suffer from emotional and psychological distress, their pets can often be like four-legged therapists - alleviating depression, calming anxiety, and providing emotional as well as physical security.  Your pet could qualitfy as an Emotional Support Animal (ESA), which would allow your pet to fly with you in the airplane cabin for free with no additional fees and no restrictions on breed; and live with you in a "no pets" apartment or condo without being charged any special deposits.

An Emotional Support Animal (ESA) is typically a dog or cat that has been prescribed by a licensed mental health professional for the therapeutic benefit the pet provides - once it has been determined that the owner meets the criteria for a diagnosis of a DSM-V emotional disorder (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders - 5th Edition), and that the disorder limits at least one normal daily activity.  Unlike Service Animals, Emotional Support Animals do not require special training because they are pets.  The only requirement is that they are well behaved.

Emotional Support Animal letters are based upon federal law and must comply with the Air Carrier Access Act for airline letters and airline forms; and the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Housing Act, and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 for housing letters.  For this reason, flying and housing each require a different letter.  As of 2019, several airlines require their own form instead of a letter.

It's simple and quick - we do it all by phone.  It's completely confidential - the diagnosis you receive is not told to anyone other than you.  As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I am qualified to evaluate your eligibility and provide you with an Emotional Support Animal prescription letter as well as any other forms required by airlines and/or housing.  The evaluation takes about 30 minutes.

You do not pay anything before the evaluation.  Once you have met the criteria for a diagnosis of a DSM-V disorder, you will have the choice of either mailing me a check or making a secure payment through PayPal.  I will mail your letter to you on the same day as I receive payment.
